Bible Memorization

This section will be under construction for several months. When finished, it will include  500-700 verses for downloading and printing in page or card form. Did you know that President Abraham Lincoln  memorized Scripture from scraps of paper carried in his pocket?

For about 25 years after Christ rose from the dead, there were no New Testament scriptures. All the preaching about Christ was done from the Old Testament. The preaching consisted of eye witness accounts of Christ's ministry and of Old Testament texts about the promised Messiah that was to come. No one had a Bible. Printing had not been invented. All the Old Testament scriptures were hand-printed, expensive and stored in the synagogues or the Temple in Jerusalem. Therefore, virtually all the preaching and sharing of the Gospel was done from scriptures memorized. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.  (Acts 8:4) All of it was from memory.
