First Earth -- New Earth
For, behold, I create new heavens and a new earth: and the former shall not be remembered, nor come into mind. (Isaiah 65:17)
Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? (2Peter 3:12)
Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless. (2Peter 3:13-14)
And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. (Revelation 21:1)
ISAIAH, PETER AND JOHN ALL WROTE ABOUT ANOTHER, UPCOMING EARTH and its expanse around it. We are not told how long it will take Him to make the new earth.
MOSES WROTE ABOUT GOD MAKING THE FIRST EARTH and a lot of people don’t like it because Moses gave God credit for it. The earth turned out fine except the people that were made to inhabit the earth, are turning out to be a problem. But, that’s all part of God’s plan. He wants people in Heaven with Him who want to be there. The earth is so morally corrupt, it’s going to have to be destroyed and a new one made. It was destroyed once with “Noah’s flood.” It will be destroyed again with fire.
WE'RE BEING TOLD BY SOME PEOPLE how much we’re endangering the earth because we don’t walk or ride bicycles. I don’t think they are Bible readers. They don’t know God has everything under control and His plans are bigger than their plans. I noticed that someone recently took down the “In God We Trust” motto in the House of Representatives and removed the “So Help Me God” from the swearing in of witnesses in the various hearings that may occur in the House of Representatives. We’re getting there.
SOME PEOPLE WOULD LIKE FOR US TO PUT OUR BIBLES IN THE CLOSET. And some are writing Bibles that don’t faithfully translate the words as they should be translated. The Bible is the one book that the world needs the most. Along with the Bible, I like to read good commentaries that are written by people who have studied a lot and know the Bible languages. I don’t always agree with them, but I like to read them. Today, I’m passing along a bit of commentary that pertains to Genesis Chapter 1.
JOHN MacARTHUR WRITES: “The description of God creating heaven and earth is understood to be 1.recent, i.e. thousands not millions of years ago; 2. ex nihila, i.e. out of nothing; and 3. Special, i.e. in six consecutive 24 hour periods called “days” and further distinguished as such by this phrase, “the evening and morning.” Scripture does not support a creation date earlier than 10,000 years ago. In the beginning. While God exists eternally (Psalm 90:2), this marked the beginning of the universe in time and space. In explaining Israel’s identity and purpose to her on the plains of Moab, God wanted His people to know about the world in which they found themselves.” (John MacArthur)
FROM: THE KING JAMES STUDY BIBLE, published by Thomas Nelson, with 13 contributing editors who have many earned masters’ and doctors’ degrees. “IN THE BEGINNING. Creation marks the absolute beginning of the temporal and material world. The traditional Jewish and Christian belief is that Genesis 1:1 declares that God created the original heaven and earth from nothing (Lat. Ex nihilo) and that verse 2 clarifies that when it came from the Creator’s hand, the mass was “without form, and void,” unformed and without any life. The rest of the chapter then explains the process of Creation in detail. THERE IS NO EVIDENCE IN THE HEBREW TEXT for long ages of evolutionary development or a gap of time between verse 1 and verse 2.” (King James Study Bible)
I WOULD LOVE TO QUOTE FROM DR. HENRY MORRIS'S NEW DEFENDER'S STUDY BIBLE, but chapter 1 of Genesis is accompanied with six, almost full, pages of study notes. I saw no way to adapt his notes to this short letter. I recommend the Bible to you. It’s worth the money.

Good Verses to Memorize:
●For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it. (Exodus 20:11)
●It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed. (Exodus 31:17)
