…Prophets Since the World Began
And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. (Acts 3:20-21)
BARBARA AND I ARE AT ACTS 3 in our “together” daily Bible reading. We usually read one chapter a day unless it is too long. Then we read from a commentary or two to see if there’s something we should discuss or study further. These verses popped out.
FROM GENESIS TO REVELATION, we find Holy Scripture sprinkled with references to the beginning of earth and life. In today’s Scripture, Peter is preaching outside the Temple as they are about to enter it at the scheduled time of prayer. He heals a well-known lame man who has positioned himself at the gate of the Temple. It immediately attracts a growing crowd of people who rush to the scene and are astonished at what they see. Peter began to speak to them and brought them up to date on who Jesus is, whom they crucified and who was raised from the dead.
JESUS HAS ASCENDED TO HEAVEN and will remain there until it is time to begin restoring the earth to its original condition of productivity. During the thousand-year-reign of Christ on the earth, swords will be beat into pruning hooks and productive tools. And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. (Isaiah 2:4)
PETER POINTS OUT THAT ALL THE HOLY PROPHETS have preached the message of restoration from the time of creation. He is talking about the general time frame of beginnings. It didn’t take the human race long to misuse their freedom and descend into rebellion. Lawlessness begets violence and it wasn’t long until God had to begin sending His prophets and then came Noah, a preacher of righteousness and the flood that destroyed everyone but Noah and his family. Nevertheless, God will persist. (See also: Revelation 21:5 and 22:3)
SINCE THE WORLD BEGAN. (JOHN 3:21) Scientist and Bible Student: Henry Morris, writes: “Note that God’s prophets have been prophesying the restoration of all things ever “since the world began,” not just beginning some four billion years after the world began, as evolutionists would allege. There is no Biblical basis whatever for the notion of vast ages since creation.
“COMPARE MARK 10:6, But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. (Mark 10:6) Luke 1:70. As he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been since the world began: (Luke 1:70)
“IT SHOULD BE RECOGNIZED THAT THERE IS NO SCIENTIFIC PROOF that the earth is more than the few thousand years of recorded history. “All such age calculations that yield vast eons of time are based upon the premise of uniformitarianism, which is the belief that everything has been uniform from the beginning of time, and there has been no universal catastrophe such as the world-wide. I WONDER HOW "SCIENTISTS" CAN THINK BEES, BIRDS, AND BUFFALOS made themselves and then think they are qualified to tell us how old the earth is.
